18-year-old man charged following aggravated burglary in Antrim

A teenager has been charged following an aggravated burglary in Antrim. 

The 18-year-old is also suspected of intending to commit grievous bodily harm during the incident in the Rathglyn area on Friday. 

He's due to appear in court next month. 

A 31-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.

He has been released to be reported to the Public Prosecution Service.     

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives investigating an incident at a property in the Rathglynn area of Antrim on 23rd October have charged an 18-year-old male to appear before Antrim Magistrates' Court on 17th November.

"The male has been charged with the offences of aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.

"As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service."
