A number of cows have been pulled from a slurry tank in Newtownstewart.
Fire crews wore breathing apparatus and used gas monitors during the rescue mission that got underway at a farm on Lislafterty Road at 8.54am this morning.
Specialist slings and machinery were used to save four animals during the operation which finished just before lunchtime.
A NIFRS spokesperson said: ''One appliance from Newtownstewart Fire Station, one appliance from Castlederg Fire Station, the animal rescue team and the Specialist Rescue Team attended the incident.
''Firefighters were called to an incident where cows were trapped in a slurry tank.
''Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used gas monitors, animal slings and were assisted by farm machinery to rescue four trapped cows.
''The incident was dealt with by 11.48am.''
