A man has been left with minor burns after a fire shut the village of Castledawson.

Emergency crews say they have put out a fire in a shed and they are currently cooling a gas cylinder at the scene.

Cordons on all the main and side roads have been lifted and people are being allowed back into their homes.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Spokesperson said: "NIFRS was called at 12.14pm to a report of a shed on fire containing a number of gas cylinders including an acetylene cylinder.

"Fire Crews from Magherafelt and Maghera extinguished the fire and are currently cooling and assessing the acetylene cylinder.

"1 man suffered minor burns and Ambulance service was also at the scene."
