Knives, batons, knuckledusters and a stun gun disguised as a mobile are among the weapons seized from passengers arriving into Belfast International Airport this Summer.
Border Force says the majority were taken off those coming in from Bulgaria, Poland and the US.
John Oldham, Assistant Director Border Force North, said:
“Detections like these demonstrate how Border Force is at the forefront of the fight to protect UK communities and individuals from dangerous or offensive weapons. I would like to pay tribute to my officers for the vigilance they showed in making these seizures, which should serve as a warning to anybody else thinking of bringing such items into the UK.
“These type of weapons glamorise violence and can cause devastating damage — they have no place whatsoever in our society.”
