Paint daubed on the front of Belfast's Islamic Centre in hate attack

Red paint has been daubed on the front of the Islamic Centre in Belfast.

It was thrown on the front of the building on Wellington Park in the south of the city shortly after half 11 last night.

Police are treating it as a hate attack.

Doctor Raied Al Wazzan said he would be happy to meet those behind the incident to hear their concerns.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact police at Lisburn Road on 101 quoting reference number 235 of 06/09/16.

Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
