The Stormont assembly will hold a special sitting this afternoon to give MLAs the chance to pay tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh.

Assembly members will meet at midday and put on record their condolences to the Royal Family, before business is suspended for the rest of the day.

The union flag is flying at half mast from Parliament Buildings until the end of this week.

Business at Stormont has also been curtailed for tomorrow - with all Private Members motions being postponed until next week.

Meanwhile, in line with official guidance - the union flag will remain at half mast at Parliament buildings until Sunday, the day after Prince Philip's funeral.
