Polish family were left homeless following a fire at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Sunday morning
A Polish family who were left homeless following a fire at their home, have secured temporary accommodation via the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE).
Outgoing East Londonderry MLA Maurice Bradley says the family visited his constituency office on Monday, and he said they have been offered temporary housing. Mr Bradley said his office was "able to liaise with the NIHE on behalf of the family"
Mr Bradley also praised the "tremendous community spirit in Coleraine". Toys and clothes were donated to the family, while a Go-Fund me page was also set-up to help, the family "stand on their own feet after house fire that they lost all they have". The total is already quadruple the target of £500.
Maurice Bradley also praised the quick actions of their neighbour and the fire crews who tackled the blaze. "The incident could have proved a real tragedy" said Bradley "the family are very grateful to those who have offered their support"
