Glentoran are off to a winning start under head coach Mick McDermott and his new management team.

They beat Dungannon Swifts 2-1 at Stangmore Park on Saturday to stay in pole position for the Danske Bank Premiership's final European play-off place.

Curtis Allen and Darren Murray scored as the Glens battled back from a goal down to take three precious points.

Paul McElroy had given the Swifts an early lead but their challenge collapsed when defender Douglas Wilson was sent off after picking up a second yellow card early in the second half.

Dungannon manager Kris Lindsay admits the defeat is a hammer blow to their play-off hopes...

Institute beat Warrenpoint 2-1 at the Brandywell.

Two stoppage time goals gave Glenavon a 2-1 victory over visiting Crusaders - Northern Ireland international Sammy Clingan with the winner from the spot.

And Cliftonville beat Coleraine 4-2 at Solitude in the other top six fixture.
