Cliftonville Ladies maintained their 100 per cent winning start to the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership campaign on Wednesday night with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Sion Swifts Ladies.

Marissa Callaghan’s early goal was enough to separate the sides in a competitive match which made it five wins from five for John McGrady’s side - who lead the way by five points at the top.

Crusaders Strikers secured a notable win at home to Linfield Ladies thanks to Amy McGivern’s strike just before the half-hour mark.

The result was enough to draw the Strikers level on points with the Blues in the standings - both have seven points after five rounds of action.

Glentoran Women secured their first league victory in three attempts with an emphatic 8-2 triumph at Derry City Women as Rachel Rogan grabbed the headlines with a hat-trick.

Joely Andrews, Kerry Beattie, Kelly Bailie, Alison McMaster and Lauren Wade were also all on target.

Alison McGonagle and Paula McGrory scored for the Candystripes in an action-packed match full of attacking football and high-quality goals.

It was quite a day for the Glens - earlier Caragh Hamilton was named Ulster Player of the Year for her outstanding performances in midfield during the title-winning 2020 campaign.
