Sion Swifts romped to a 12-0 victory at home to Cliftonville as they stayed in the hunt for their first ever Danske Bank Women’s Premiership title.

Donna Kay Henry and Ciara Grant both hit hat-tricks, there were two goals each for Michelle McDaid and Kerry Brown, while Kristin Desmond also scored and there was an own goal.

The Strabane-based side are now four points clear of champions Linfield - who have played two games fewer - while they themselves have just two league games left to play.

The Blues were scheduled to be in action on Wednesday night against Glentoran but both teams had multiple players involved in international duty with Northern Ireland this week, so that crucial game has been put back to Saturday 14 September.

It was also a massive night at the foot of the table as Comber Rec recorded their first ever top flight win as they edged out Derry City 1-0 at Londonderry Park.

Nora Calder was the scorer for Winky Kerr’s side, who had picked up just one point - also in a home fixture against the Candystripes - in their previous 14 outings.

Comber remain bottom but are now level on points with Derry, who have played one game more.
