Tasha Ghouri faced online abuse over her "deaf accent" after appearing on 'Love Island'.

The 25-year-old reality star reached the final of ITV2 reality series with boyfriend Andrew Le Page in 2022 and had made history as the first-ever deaf contestant on the series but when viewers noticed that her voice sounded drastically different when she took her cochlea out, she was subjected to online abuse.

Speaking on ITV's 'Lorraine', she told stand-in host Ranvir Singh: "When I have my implant in, I can hear my voice but when I take it out I can hear a vibration from my throat. I can't hear what tone it is or how loud. It's weird because when I put it back on, I go back to my normal voice. While I was on the show, not many people understood the way I spoke the way I did. That's probably the main trolling I received, people make TikToks taking the mick out of my voice."

The influencer recently made a viral TikTok where she talked at length using her "deaf accent" and encouraged others to "embrace" their unique voice even though she admitted she had been "nervous" to post the clip in the first place.

Meanwhile, Tasha is still in a relationship with her 'Love Island' co-star Andrew, 28, and revealed that he recently surprised her by getting a tattoo written in sign language dedicated to her.

She said: "It's basically ASL saying 'I love you' in American Sign Language. He came home and surprised me with it and I was like 'What?!' His support has been incredible, he loves me for me and that helps me be my vulnerable self. Not everyone is gonna love you and that's okay. But I'm so passionate about making the best out of my platform."
