Women across the province gather to celebrate International Women's Day

International Women’s Day is being recognised across Northern Ireland.

Worldwide events are taking place to celebrate women’s achievements, from the world of politics, business and community sectors while calling for gender equality.

This year’s theme is Press for Progress, a strong call to motivate and unite people to think, act and be gender inclusive.

In Derry-Londonderry, Claire McGee from InnovateNI has organised a massive ‘Derry Girls’ themed event celebrating women from the city:
