Crues pay penalty as Doherty double sees Bannsiders take over top spot at Seaview

Coleraine have moved above Crusaders to the top of the Danske Bank Premiership on goal difference. 

The Bannsiders beat the Crues 2-0 at Seaview on Saturday, thanks to a penalty double from Ben Doherty. 

Meanwhile, Joel Cooper struck twice to give Linfield a 2-1 home win over Ballymena.

Cliftonville had a 3-0 victory away to Institute with two goals for Conor McMenamin and one for Joe Gormley on his 300th appearance for the club. 

Carrick Rangers beat visiting Dungannon Swifts 1-0.

And there's more misery for rock bottom Warrenpoint Town - they lost 3-1 at home to Glenavon. 

Next up for the 'Point - a trip to Windsor Park on Tuesday night. 

 

 

Derry City stayed on course for a European place with a 2-1 win in Sligo on Saturday night.

The Candystripes can clinch a Europa League qualification spot with a point at home to St. Pat's on Tuesday.
