Glentoran greats Gary Smyth and Paul Leeman are set to be confirmed on Thursday night as members of the club's new management team.

The former centre-backs enjoyed successful playing careers during the glory days at the Oval.

Smyth yesterday quit as boss of Championship club Harland and Wolff Welders and is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Glens.

Things are also looking up for the Glentoran women's team - they beat visiting Derry City 5-1 on Wednesday night to record their first league win of the season.

Linfield Ladies are back on top of the table after a 6-3 win away to Cliftonville.

Crusaders Strikers slipped to second after drawing 1-1 with third-placed Sion Swifts at Seaview.

Aimee Mackin put Sion in front but another of the ex-Newry City Ladies players on view, Celine Curtis, equalised.
