Tommy Breslin returns as Reds interim manager

Q Radio Sport

The stage is set for a dramatic final Saturday in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Linfield are on the verge of winning the league for the first time in five years - but an old foe stands in their way.

Title-winning manager in 2013 and 2014 Tommy Breslin is back as Cliftonville boss on an interim basis until the end of the season.

His first game is at home to the Blues, who need a point to pip Crusaders to the Premiership crown.

With the Reds sitting fourth and set for the European play-offs, is Breslin bothered about who takes the Gibson Cup?

Former Blues striker Matthew Tipton has just led Warrenpoint Town to the Championship title and an instant return to the top flight.

He's backing his old club to get over the line, but says Breslin's return will give the Reds a major boost.

Crusaders, nine points clear at the top a few weeks ago, are now two points behind the Blues and need to beat Glenavon at Seaview to have any chance of making it three Premiership titles in a row.

The other top six match on Saturday is a local derby with Irish Cup finalists Coleraine hosting Ballymena United.

In Section B, Dungannon are at home to Portadown, Ballinamallard entertain Carrick and Glentoran face Ards with Glens legend Colin Nixon returning to the Oval as manager of the North Down club.
