Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have been announced as the new co-owners of a beer company in their latest business move.

The Hollywood actors now co-own Wrexham Lager Beer Company Ltd alongside the Roberts family.

Having been brewing since 1882, it is the oldest lager brewery still in existence in Britain.

It also boasts to being the only lager available on the infamous only voyage of the Titanic, according to the brewery's website.

It is the duo's latest business venture in North Wales after they bought football club Wrexham AFC in 2020.

They have since overseen the club's meteoric rise to the third division of English football after the team secured back-to-back promotions, documented in Disney+ documentary Welcome To Wrexham.

Wrexham, in northeast Wales, was made a city by the late Queen Elizabeth II during her platinum jubilee celebrations in 2022.

Last month, it was confirmed that McElhenney and Reynolds were in talks to invest in Cardiff-based cricket team Welsh Fire.

The latest investment was made by Red Dragon Ventures, created to "drive growth in the Wrexham community and Wrexham AFC".

The joint venture has been formed by the club's majority owner The RR McReynolds Company and the Allyn family of New York.

Wrexham Lager says the deal will "scale up" its infrastructure and international production, distribution, and marketing efforts.

Making the announcement, McElhenney and Reynolds said they had "learned a lot" as co-chairmen of Wrexham AFC.

"The connection between club and community, the intricacies of the offsides rule and the occasional need for beer - especially after finance meetings.

"Wrexham Lager has a 140-year-old recipe and a storied history and we're excited to help write its next chapter."

The Roberts family, owners of the business since 2011, will maintain an active role within the company.
