Appeals for witnesses after 800m of wire cut in Dungannon

In excess of 800 metres of wire were cut during an incident in the Old Moy Road area of Dungannon, according to police.

Police investigating the incident have issued an appeal for information.

 “It was reported that in excess of 800 metres of wire had been cut sometime after 6pm on August 14th in the Old Moy Road area of Dungannon," according to Constable Gerry McGurnaghan.

Officers say they are treating the episode as criminal damage and are now appealing for witnesses.

"Enquiries have been ongoing, however, we would now like to hear from anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area around this time," Constable McGurnaghan added.

"If you can help please call the 101 number, quoting reference 297 of 15th of August, 2016," he finished.
