A close knit community in Cookstown has been left shocked following the death of popular man Denver ‘Deni’ Chambers.

The 40-year-old father from Stewart Avenue was at a party when he collapsed on Saturday morning.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out later to determine the cause of death.

Tributes have been paid to the Rangers fan on Facebook.

The Tyrone Somme Memorial Association is among those leaving messages of condolence:

On behalf of the officers and members of Tyrone Somme Memorial Association, can I offer our sincere condolences to the Reid and Chambers family following the tragic and premature death of our friend Deni Chambers. Valerie, Greta and Hazel you are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless and comfort you all at this sad time.

Mr Chambers’ funeral will take place at Derryloran Parish Church.

Councillor Trevor Wilson has expressed his shock.

“This is a terrible tragedy and yet another loss of a young life.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, daughter, family and friends at this sad time,” he said.

Also paying tribute to Mr Chambers is former Assemblyman Ian McCrea:
