A family dog has had to be put down after being attacked with acid in Newry.
The pet called 'Patch' was found injured in the Pound Road area of the city at around 6.10pm yesterday.
She was taken to a local vet, however, due to the severity of her injuries, Patch had to be euthanized.
David Wilson, from the local animal charity USPCA has called for anyone with information on the attack to come forward.
He described those behind it as "vindictive" and "evil".
Mr Wilson also says the local vet did the right thing by euthanizing Patch due to the extent of the injuries and pain.
If the pet had of been taken to the USPCA, which is a short distance from where she was found injured, the USPCA says the same measures would have been taken to relieve the animal.
A spokesperson for the PSNI says "Enquiries are ongoing."
