New contemporary cafe on the menu at HomePlace

A new contemporary café will open its doors at Seamus Heaney HomePlace in Bellaghy.

It’ll seat up to 60 customers, and stock an array of locally sourced and produced handcrafted foods.

The cafe will be open to both visitors viewing the exhibition about the life of Seamus Heaney, as well as anyone who would like to drop in for food or light refreshments.

Adrian Martin, café operator says work is nearing completion on the new café.

“We not only look forward to welcoming people who will visit from far and wide, but it’s somewhere that people locally can stop for a coffee and a chat, or even for a spot of lunch,” he says.

Adrian’s experience of working in the hospitality and catering sector dates back many years. He opened the cafe and bar franchise in the Burnavon in Cookstown, before moving on to take over the Tullylagan Country House Hotel.

In 2013 he opened the catering franchise in Hill of the O’Neill and Ranfurly Arts and Visitor Centre Dungannon. And in the summer of 2016 he opened the first cafe in Dungannon Park.

Seamus Heaney HomePlace will open its doors to the public on Friday, September 30, beginning a weekend of celebrations which will give visitors their first opportunity to journey through the exhibition of the life and literature of Seamus Heaney, as well as to experience a series of events in the new 191-seater performance space.
