A man has died after a road accident in Downpatrick last night.
Police say the pedestrian was struck by a car on the Ballydugan Road, at the Downe Retail Park, at around 8.30pm.
He died at the scene.
Detectives are appealing for information.

Inspector Campbell said: “At approximately 8.30pm, it was reported that a male pedestrian had been struck by a car. The man sadly died at the scene.
"The Ballydugan Road, which was closed following the incident has since reopened.
“Enquires are continuing and the Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage or any other information to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1946 27/10/21.”
Councillor Alan Lewis says people in the area are shocked by the tragedy.
"I'm sorry to hear someone has lost their life in a road traffic accident in Downpatrick last night,
"The entire community sends thoughts and prayers to the family.
"This is an unfortunate reminder of the dangers of our local roads and again my thoughts and prayers are with the family.
"I'd also like to thank the emergency services for their quick and efficient response."
