Police have returned to the scene of a road traffic collision in Newtownards yesterday evening that claimed the life of local boy, three-year-old Kai Corkum.
Inspector O’Connor said: “The collision occurred over a week ago on Thursday 13th December at around 5.20pm on the Movilla Road at traffic lights close to its junction with Stratheden Heights, and involved a silver-coloured Volkswagen Golf.
“Kai was taken to hospital following the collision, but he sadly died from his injuries last Friday afternoon (Friday, 14 December).
“Police will re-visit the scene this evening at around the same time the collision occurred to stop traffic in a bid to seek information. We want to hear from anyone who may have been on the road at the time of the collision, which would have been a very busy time of the evening, with people out and about and people heading home from work.
“If you were driving in the area you may have dash cam footage and, if you do, I would urge you to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1000 of 13/12/18.”
Little Kai Corkum was buried in Newtownards earlier in the week.
