PSNI investigate "concerning incident" involving criminal damage outside school in Dromore

The PSNI is investigating a "concerning incident" that occurred outside Central Primary School in Dromore.

Yesterday afternoon, a large stone described by officers "like a large lump of granite" was thrown from the streets towards the front of the school.

We're told it damaged a car as a result.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said it "could have been dealing with the death of a child" due to the size of the rock thrown.

"Had something that size hit a child, the injuries could have been horrific. If it had hit a younger child in a pram, it would almost certainly have been fatal."

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The Police is keen to find out who was behind the incident and says:

"If that was you who threw the rock, stop and think. You could be sat at home now waiting for your front door to come in round you as we investigate the death of a child. That isn't the sort of reckless act which leaves you."
