Reports that masked gunmen fired shots in Londonderry are being investigated.
The incident is thought to have taken place at about 9pm on Wednesday in a residential area of Ballymagroarty.
One local resident told Q Radio what she saw:
The flat at the centre of tonight’s security operation in Ballymagroarty in #Derry. Local residents say young children were playing in the street when several loud bangs - believed by residents to be gunshots - rang out. A PSNI spokesman said it was "extremely lucky" that no-one was injured.
The PSNI has issued an appeal for information.
"At approximately 9pm on Wednesday we received a report that masked men had fired a number of shots in the area," the spokesman said.
"We are extremely lucky that no-one was injured as a result of this incident, which occurred in a residential area.
"I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who has information that could assist police with their inquiries to contact police on the non emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1829 of 04/03/20."
