Stormont's First Minister Arlene Foster has said she believes the British government should share vaccine stocks with Ireland once its vaccination programme is completed.
Mrs. Foster said she recommended the proposal to Prime Minister Boris Johnson when he visited Enniskillen earlier this month.
She said with the more advanced vaccination programme in Northern Ireland and lower infection rates there, Northern Ireland's efforts to contain the coronavirus could be undermined by the situation in the Republic, where case numbers are higher.
Northern Ireland is on course to offer first jabs to the entire adult population by July.
