Three stretches of the Sherrygrim Road in Stewartstown will be resurfaced.

That'll take place within the next six to eight weeks.

Ulster Unionist Assembly Member for Mid Ulster, Sandra Overend says she has received a commitment from Transport NI to undertake maintenance work.
The condition of the road had been raised with her on a number of occasions by constituents.
Mrs Overend has made regular representations to Transport NI seeking action to be taken.

Mrs Overend says any regular user of the road will be all too aware of the badly uneven surface, due to the road subsiding. This requires drivers to exercise caution when using the route, and especially when meeting oncoming traffic, she points out.“I am pleased to have now received a commitment from Transport NI that in the coming weeks they will be surfacing three stretches of the Sherrigrim Road under the Rural Roads project to remove the unevenness. Whilst a timeframe for the work has yet to be finalised, I am advised that this will take place within the next 6-8 weeks," she says.“I very much welcome this long awaited and much needed scheme, which will benefit local residents and those regularly travelling on this route which leads on to the main Cookstown-Dungannon Road. If any constituent would like to report a problem with a local road I would ask them to get in touch with me and I will contact Transport NI on their behalf, office: 028 8674 8090 or sandra.overend@mla.niassembly.gov.uk," she adds.
