A County Tyrone family is in mourning after losing yet another loved one in a road traffic collision.

Shane Rafferty died in a crash in Aughnacloy on Saturday evening - eight years after his father passed away in similar circumstances.

Police confirmed the news of the Galbally man's death yesterday morning - he was in his forties.

He was driving a white-coloured Ford Transit van on the Tullyvar Road when he was involved in the collision shortly before 8:30 PM on Saturday night. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Sinn Fein MLA Michelle Gildernew has sent her condolences to the family.

Saying "any death on our roads is one too many".

"The local community is in shock following the death of man in his 40s in a collision on the Tullyvar Road in Augnacloy.
