Police have introduced a new online initiative called 'Operation-Exposure' or 'Op-Exposure', to try and identify suspected criminals.
They post photos of the suspects on social media, so members of the public can help identify them.
This issue has raised some issues due to the potential danger of publishing photos of someone who is yet to be convicted of the crime.
This week the Dungannon and South Tyrone PSNI facebook page released an image of a suspected criminal.
They say the man photographed can assist them with their enquiries regarding a suspected theft in Magherafelt back in April.
Police have also said that this method will only be used when all others "have attempted and failed".
Also, each photo will only remain on the facebook page for 24 hours before being deleted.
