Blues make history and now target millions in the Europa League group stages

Linfield have become the first Irish League club to reach a play-off for the Europa League group stages.

They beat Sutjeska 3-2 at Windsor Park on Tuesday night, winning the third round tie 5-3 on aggregate.

The Montenegro team had a man sent off as man of the match Shayne Lavery tormented the visiting defence.

The 20-year-old striker signed from Everton this summer hit the second goal and earned high praised from Blues boss, Northern Ireland's record goalscorer, David Healy...

Mark Stafford and Matthew Clarke were the other goalscorers. 

Linfield face Azerbaijan champions Qarabag in the play-offs with the first leg at Windsor Park next Thursday.

The Blues are already assured of almost £1.5m in UEFA prize money and stand to make £4m if they get to the group stage.

In the Danske Bank Premiership on Tuesday -

Early pacesetters Larne made it two wins from two with a 2-1 victory away to derby rivals Carrick Rangers.

Crusaders beat basement team Warrenpoint 4-0 at Seaview.

Glentoran fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with visiting Coleraine, who had James McLaughlin sent off.

Dungannon beat Institute 3-2 at the Brandywell.

Joe Gormley scored twice as Cliftonville had a 3-1 home win over Glenavon.

Tributes were paid to legendary former Reds player and manager Tommy Breslin who died last week.
