Murray Christmas in the east as Glens snap up ex-Watford midfielder

There's another new recruit at The BetMcLean Oval - Sean Murray who switches to east Belfast from Dundalk.

The 28-year-old started out with his local club, Watford, as an Academy player.

He made his senior debut v QPR in the Championship and went on to make 85 first team appearances, scoring 14 goals.

His other clubs have included Wigan and Colchester. 

In three seasons with Dundalk, Sean won six medals including the League Championship, FAI Cup and League Cup.

He also played in the Dundalk team that beat Linfield 7-1 on aggregate in the 2019 All-Ireland Champions Cup.

Born in England, he has Irish grandparents and won nine under-21 caps for the Republic.

Sean and the other new signing, striker Michael O’Connor, will be eligible for the Glens' Irish Cup tie away to Dergview on Saturday 8th January.

Linfield can go top of the Danske Bank Premiership on Tuesday night with a home win against Ballymena United. 

The Blues are currently two points behind leaders Cliftonville.

There's also a basement battle as Dungannon Swifts welcome Warrenpoint Town.
