GAWA girls draw England in World Cup qualifiers as Shiels gets new deal

The Irish FA is boycotting social media this weekend as part of an international protest against online abuse and discrimination.

The four-day boycott of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram is supported by a range of sporting bodies including UEFA, the English FA and Premier League.

The IFA will switch off the platforms from 3pm on Friday until Monday at 11.59pm.

Any limited posting during this period will include recognition of the campaign hashtag #FootballForAll

Kenny Shiels is staying on as Northern Ireland women's manager.

And the GAWA girls have drawn England in the World Cup qualifiers.

Rugby - Ulster's European dream is over after they suffered a 33-24 defeat to Leicester Tigers in their Challenge Cup semi-final on Friday night. 

Despite leading by 11 points at Welford Road at half-time, the province couldn’t hold on to reach their first European final since 2012.

Michael Conlan has captured the WBO super-bantamweight belt in London.

The Belfast boxer secured a majority victory over Romanian Ionut Baluta.

Derry City had a 2-1 victory away to Bohemians in the League of Ireland on Friday night.

In the Danske Bank Premiership, Carrick had captain Daniel Kelly sent off but still won 2-0 in Dungannon. 

Saturday's fixtures include first against second with Glentoran facing Linfield at the Oval.
