A murder investigation is under way after a woman was killed and two men injured in a triple shooting in northwest London.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to reports of a shooting at around 9.15pm on Saturday in Gifford Road in Harlesden.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found injured but despite the efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men, both aged in their 30s, also suffered injuries.
One remains in hospital in a critical condition; the other man's injuries are not life-threatening.
Road closures remain in place around the scene. No arrests have been made so far.
A neighbour, who does not want to be identified, told Sky News: "I was just sitting at home watching TV and I heard six or seven loud bangs. I came out and heard people screaming. It was chaos. There was a woman lying in the road not moving. There was another man who was hopping on one leg - it looked like he was shot in the foot or leg."
Another neighbour said: "We've lived here for more than 20 years and it's never been as bad as it is now. We hear about shootings and stabbings all the time around here. All this violence makes it miserable for people who live here. I just wish it would stop."
Superintendent Tony Josephs, from the North West Command Unit, said: "This is a truly shocking incident that has left a woman dead and two others injured, and I understand the concern this will cause the local community and those across London.
"I want to reassure people that a team of experienced detectives are already working at pace to piece together the events of last night and identify whoever was responsible for this heinous act of violence," he said.
"If you were in or around Gifford Close at the time of the shooting, or have any information about who was responsible, please get in contact with us. A family has been left devastated and we need to work together to provide them with answers."
