Speaking out against criticism of the amount of coverage given to her when she attends NFL games, the boyfriend of her Kansas City Chiefs star boyfriend Travis Kelce has hailed her as a “quintessential artist”.

Taylor Swift has been hailed a “quintessential artist” by her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s NFL star brother.

Jason Kelce, 36, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles and hosts the ‘New Heights’ podcast with The Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis, 34, heaped praise on the record-breaking Grammy winner, also 34, as he hit out at critics for saying Taylor was getting too much attention when she turned up at NFL games to support Travis.

He told local Cincinnati TV station WCPO 9: “She’s a world star, she’s the quintessential artist right now in the world, singer-songwriter, immensely talented, an unbelievable role model for young women across the globe.

“I think that the NFL would probably be foolish not to show her and be a role model for all the young girls out there.”

Jason added NFL chiefs would not be showing Taylor on TV so much if people didn’t want to see her, saying: “The attention is there because the audience wants to see it.

“If people didn’t want to see it, they wouldn’t be showing it.”

Taylor has reportedly generated $330 million for the NFL and given the sport its highest female viewership in a long time ever since she debuted her relationship with Travis by showing up at one of his games in September 2023.

Taylor also made history at Sunday’s (04.02.24) Grammys by winning her fourth best album award at the ceremony.

But NFL fans and celebrities have slammed the attention she gets during coverage of the NFL games she attends.

In October, Kelly Clarkson, 41, said on her talk show it was “not hilarious” how Taylor’s romance with Travis was “literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now”.

She added: “It’s like you’re watching ‘Housewives’ while you’re watching.”

Comic Jo Koy, 52, also joked about how many times Taylor appears onscreen during NFL games while he hosted the 2024 Golden Globes in January while Taylor sat in the audience.
