Six masked men reportedly forced their way into a house and assaulted a man during a burglary in Larne on Friday.
The twenty six year old has been treated in hospital for his injuries, which aren't thought to be life-threatening.
Detective Sergeant Crothers said;
“It was reported that approximately 11.30pm last night, Friday 19 August, entry was forced to the premises by approximately six masked males who assaulted a 26 year old male occupant. The injured male has attended hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault to contact detectives at Larne PSNI on 101 quoting CCS reference number 1496 19/8/16. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
