Two men have escaped serious injury following a Crossbow attack in Carrickfergus, Co.Antrim.
A masked man fired an arrow at a black Renault Traffic van at around 5.15 yesterday.
It happened in the forecourt of a petrol station on Prince Andrew Way.
Minor damage was caused to the vehicle - but the two men inside the van were not injured.
East Antrim MLA Stewart Dicksonsays the attack was a “sinister incident”.
“The use of such a serious weapon makes this a particularly sinister incident,” said Mr Dickson.
“The crossbow is a lethal weapon and its use could be considered attempted murder. My thoughts are with the two men who were the victims of this attack, which has shocked the local community."
Detective Constable Loreen Glenn said: "We are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone who may be able to assist the police investigation in any way.
"Detectives can be contacted by calling 101.
"Or if you would prefer to provide information without leaving your details you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
