The Southern Trust has teamed up with Kidney Care UK to educate patients and carers on Home Dialysis.
The Renal Unit at Daisy Hill hospital recently opened it's doors for a 'Home Therapies Roadshow', aimed at patients, carers and family members.
The Renal Team there supports up to 104 patients from across Armagh, Dungannon, Craigavon, Banbridge, Newry and Mourne who come to the unit for haemodialysis.
An additional 28 dialyse at home.
In the following video, we hear from Sister Fiona Owens, Renal Home Therapies Manager for the trust, and two patients Carmel Anderson and Donal Lappin who dialyse at home:
The Renal Unit is celebrating 20 years since it opened in 1998.
To mark the occasion, the team is hosting a service of remembrance and thanksgiving on Sunday 17th June from 3pm to 4.40pm in Newry Cathedral.
Anyone including patients and families both past and present, interested in celebrating with the team is welcome to attend the interfaith event, followed by a reception at the Canal Court Hotel.
