There were 16 second round ties in the Northern Ireland League Cup last night, with all the Danske Bank Premiership teams eventually going through.

Linfield beat Lisburn Distillery 6-0 at Windsor Park, sub Louis Rooney scoring a 10-minute hat-trick on his debut:

The Northern Ireland under-21 international signed from Plymouth Argyle last week was born in England but is the son of a lifelong Blueman:

Meanwhile, Cliftonville have also added to their firepower, Rory Donnelly rejoining the club after almost six years across the water with clubs including Swansea and Gillingham.

The 25-year-old watched at Solitude as his brother Jay scored twice in the Reds' 4-0 cup win over Banbridge Town.

Mark Sykes hit a hat-trick in Glenavon's 5-1 win over Donegal Celtic.

Holders Ballymena beat visiting Knockbreda 3-0 to register their first victory of the season while Coleraine maintained their 100 per cent start with a 4-1 home win against Larne. 

Meanwhile, Ballinamallard were taken to penalties by Tobermore at Ferney Park - the shoot-out finished 8-7 to the relieved Premiership side.
