Ryan Harpur's move from Dungannon Swifts to Ballymena United has been brought forward.
He was due to switch in the summer, but a deal's been done that he'll join the Danske Bank Premiership leaders with immediate effect.
The 30-year-old midfielder's been given a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Sky Blues and can play for his new club when the transfer window opens next month.
Dungannon have announced Chris Hegarty will replace Harpur as club captain.
The defender has signed a contract extension, as has the Swifts' vice-captain, midfielder Seanan Clucas.
There's one match in the Premiership on Friday night - Newry City welcome Glentoran to the Showgrounds (7.45pm).
The Glens are aiming for a victory to boost their hopes of moving into the top six.
A win for Newry would move them out of the relegation play-off place, above Dungannon.
