Usyk vs Fury 2: Tyson Fury weighs in almost four stone heavier than Oleksandr Usyk ahead of Saturday's heavyweight fight

A leather-jacket wearing Tyson Fury weighed in just under four stone heavier than Oleksandr Usyk ahead of their heavyweight rematch as both fighters remained fully clothed as they stood on the scales.

Fury was a career-heaviest 281lbs (20st 1lb), while tracksuit-wearing Usyk weighed 226lbs (16st 2lb).

A staredown of unprecedented duration the day before had ramped up anticipation ahead of the heavyweight rivals' final pre-fight collision.

They took to the scales on Friday in the surreal surroundings of a Riyadh theme park, a Ferris wheel gleaming in the night sky behind them and spotlights dotting the air, with cheery screams of locals on different rides drifting across the soundscape.

A vocal contingent of Fury fans had made their way to the weigh-in as a substantial crowd gathered close together at the open-air venue.

Chants for the former champion were belted out, but Fury did not allow himself a smile, folding his arms and nodding to his supporters.

In December, late, gone 10.15pm local time, the desert night was cold. Fury remained fully clothed, leather jacket and hat staying on. He did weigh 281lbs, a career heaviest, and is much the bigger man.

Usyk did not strip down either and was the largest he has ever been too at 226lbs.

'War', says Fury, before making exit

They chose against trying to repeat the previous day's gargantuan staredown. After a brief face-off, Fury left the stage without addressing the crowd. Reportedly his only word was "war".

That perhaps is all that needed to be said.

"Nothing," replied the Ukrainian when asked what he is feeling. "My god helped me, my family, my wife helped me [to prepare]."

Teenage heavyweight Moses Itauma (249lbs 1oz) is looking to prove his potential against fringe world-level contender Demsey McKean (251lbs 1oz) from Australia.

"I've just been ready to go," Itauma declared. "Put on a big show, big knockout and do my thing."

David Allen strolled onto the stage with a smile on his face and weighed in at 257lbs 6oz. The 'Romford Bull', Johnny Fisher, 241lbs 1oz, rivals him for popularity and he is relishing their fight.

"I'm ready for whatever he throws at me," Fisher said.

"I've got huge power and I've got huge heart. I'm going to show all of that."

Allen, though, said: "I wanted to be remembered for being one hell of a man, so this is the big one."

An animated Isaac Lowe weighed 125lbs 1oz, while his opponent, former European champion Lee McGregor was125lbs 9oz. The pair had to be separated at their face-off, with McGregor laughing off the conflict.

"Now is my time to announce myself to the world," McGregor said.

Lowe responded: "We'll see tomorrow night when he gets put to sleep."

Leeds' Ishamel Davis (153lbs 6oz) has taken a second consecutive short-notice assignment against the formidable Serhii Bohachuk (153lbs 1oz).

"It means everything," Davis said. "These are the chances that make great people. So I'm here."

Unbeaten prospect Rhys Edwards had flown in just this week to replace Dennis McCann and keep former Olympian Peter McGrail on the bill.

They agreed to a super-featherweight bout, with Edwards weighing 129lbs 1oz. McGrail was 129lbs 8oz.

Edwards explained his decision: "It was an easy choice, I'm really grateful to be here and I can't wait to get there and hopefully do the job."

McGrail needs to win but appreciates Edwards simply for taking fight. "It gives me an opportunity to perform on the biggest stage of all," he said.

The stage is finally set. The undercard fighters are weighed in. Usyk and Fury are locked in for their heavyweight rematch. Three world titles are on the line and their personal battle for supremacy will be decided on Saturday night.
