Man released on bail after Ladbroke Grove car shooting that seriously injured eight-year-old girl

A 22-year-old man has been released on bail over a shooting in west London that left an eight-year-old girl and her father seriously injured.

Witnesses described an attacker opening fire directly into a car during the incident on Southern Row in Ladbroke Grove just after 5.30pm on Sunday.

The eight-year-old girl had surgery on Monday and is now said to be in a stable condition. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Her 34-year-old father suffered potentially life-changing injuries, while the girl's two-year-old sibling and 32-year-old mother were unharmed.

The suspect had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but Met Police said he had now been released on bail until February pending further enquiries.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances and motive.
