Two South Derry teenagers who potentially saved the life of a man while angling have been praised for their swift actions.
Matthew Doyle from Draperstown (19) and Joseph Spiers from Knockloughrim (18), are both from Moyola Angling Club in Castledawson.
They were on a day trip when they saw a man enter the Mourne River near Sion Mills.

The teenagers were able to pull him out and Matthew phoned for the emergency services.
Both have been praised for their ‘heroic acts’ on social media.
