Police are investigating the death of a young man in Co Down.
Officers attended an apartment complex on Main Street in Cloughey following a "concern for safety" report yesterday morning.
They discovered a 27-year-old man lying in the carpark at around 11.15am.
He passed away at the scene a short time later despite the efforts of police and paramedics to resuscitate him.
The Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland has been notified in line with standard protocol concerning officers who're present when someone dies.
A spokesman for the office said: “As police officers were present, the PSNI notified us about the death and we have commenced an independent investigation.
“Our investigators have been at the scene and have begun gathering evidence to piece together the course of events which resulted in this tragic and untimely death.
“We would appeal to anyone who was in the Main Street area of Cloughey at about 1.30pm and may have seen what happened to contact our freephone witness appeal line on 0800 032 7880.
"Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this time."

A PSNI statement said: "A man has died following a report to police of a ‘concern for safety’ in the Main Street area of Cloghy on Saturday morning.
"The 27-year-old male was located by police lying in the carpark of an apartment building at around 11.15am and subsequently passed away at the scene.
"The circumstances of the death are now subject to investigation and in line with standard protocol where police officers have been present at a death, the Office of the Police Ombudsman has been informed."
