The Community Rescue Service has rescued a man who entered the water at Lagan Weir in Belfast.
He was spotted hanging onto the underside rails of the pedestrian footbridge by a crew at around 2.30am this morning.
Rescue crews and the PSNI tried to negotiate with the man, who's in his 30s and from Portugal for around 20 minutes before he entered the weir.
Sean McGarry from the Community Rescue Service has told Q Radio: "One member of the water rescue team went in and managed to safely get to the man before they together swam out to open water to be saved by the Belfast pilot boat".
The man is now recovering in hospital.
