Robin Swann and Mervyn storey both hit out at the recent craze linked to Halloween
The UUP's Robin Swann called the killer clown craze 'potentially fatal' . The North Antrim MLA called the craze 'highly irresponsible' adding that the drain on police resources, could cause more serious crimes to go unnoticed.
For example, on Friday pupils were kept indoors over lunch at Coleraine grammar School. That followed threats on social media that so-called 'Killer Clowns' would arrive at the school.
Meanwhile Swann's fellow MLA, the DUP's Mervyn Storey blasted the craze, after reports that armed police had to be posted at Dalriada School in Ballymoney. Mr Storey said that "what may be seen as a prank by someone can end up in a serious situation and today (Monday) we have seen that in Ballymoney.
Both MLAs said that anyone with any information over who is responsible should contact police.
