Q Radio understands up to 70 pigs have become trapped in a slurry tank in a County Antrim village.
29 firefighters are at the scene on the Ballinderry Road in Aghalee.
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service says it expects it to be a "protracted incident".
In a statement a spokesperson for the service told Q Radio: "NIFRS is currently dealing with an incident at a property on the Balinderry Road, Aghalee.
"Six fire appliances and 29 firefighters are dealing with what is expected to be a protracted incident".
