Derry City ended their League of Ireland campaign on a high on Friday night and clinched fourth place with a 2-1 win at Dundalk.

They fought back from a goal down with strikes from Ciaron Harkin and top scorer Jamie McGonigle.

It means the Candystripes could still qualify for Europe, if St. Pat's beat Bohemians in next week's FAI cup final.

Coleraine had a 3-1 home win against Larne in their Danske Bank Premiership match.

They move above the East Antrim side into second spot ahead of five fixtures on Saturday afternoon.

Cross-border football competition the Unite the Union Champions Cup has been postponed until next year.

Organisers are citing the rise in Covid-19 cases across the island.

Linfield were scheduled to play Coleraine in the local semi-final of the tournament on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the GAA has announced the All-Stars banquet due to take place in Dublin next month has been cancelled because of the Covid situation.
