Bannsiders beaten 1-0 at Solitude in their first defeat since mid August
Daniel Hughes was the only goalscorer at Solitude as Cliftonville inflicted a first defeat in over a month on Oran Kearney's side. Hughes' strike on 63 minutes gave the Reds a much needed win as they look for some early season consistency. While Coleraine will feel a little unlucky not to have taken something from the game.
Coleraine started the game the brighter, going close early on through the likes of Darren McCauley. However, Cliftonville began to grow into the game with Jude Winchester missing an early opportunity.

Bannsiders will feel unlucky to not have got anything from the contest.
Eventually Hughes' strike broke the deadlock in the second half when the Coleraine defence failed to deal with a long Ball into the box. Coleraine pressed for an equaliser but were unable to find the bit inspiration needed to take a result back from North Belfast. It was Coleraine's first defeat since the 4-0 reverse against Dungannon Swifts last month.
Coleraine return to the Showgrounds next Saturday when they will entertain Glenavon. Oran Kearney will be hoping his team can shake the defeat to the Reds off, and continue their early season promise. A win over a quality Glenavon side will go a long way towards getting the Bannsiders back on track.
