A penalty from Paul McElroy gave Dungannon Swifts a 1-0 win against Glenavon in Monday night's big Irish Cup clash at Mourneview Park.

The only goal was scored in the 16th minute - and McElroy was fouled for the spot kick.

Dungannon have a home tie in the quarter-finals against Ballinamallard who beat Carrick Rangers 1-0 at Ferney Park - Josh McIlwaine with the winner.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, Ballymena came from behind to score a 4-1 victory over Portadown and will now travel to Crusaders in the last eight next month.

Adam Lecky struck twice, Cathair Friel netted from the spot and Sky Blues skipper Jim Ervin grabbed only his third goal for the club.

The Ports goal was a stunner from Adam Salley.

Warrenpoint beat visiting Queen's 2-0 to book another tie against lower league opposition - Larne Tech Old Boys.
