Republic of Ireland football manager Martin O'Neill claims a poor refereeing decision cost his men victory at home to Austria.

They drew 1-1 in Dublin, a result which helped them stay joint on points with leaders Serbia.

The home side opened their account courtesy of Jonathan Walters, with 85 minutes on the clock.

Shane Duffy thought he had scored, only for the official to adjudge a foul.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, O'Neill says he's very surprised by the decision.

O'Neill's players preserved their unbeaten record in the qualifiers.
