The top two in the Danske Bank Premiership both dropped points at home on Saturday.

Linfield were held to a scoreless draw by Ards and Glenavon finished 1-1 with Glentoran.

Robbie McDaid was the Glentoran goalscorer on the hour, striking again against his former club...

Glenavon sub Stephen Murray hit the equaliser from the penalty spot.

Calum Birney again impressed at the back for the Glens.

Also on Saturday, Newry beat 10-man Cliftonville 1-0 at the Showgrounds.

John Boyle scored the goal, Jamie Harney was sent off.

Institute against Dungannon was goalless.

And Ballymena had a 6-1 victory at Warrenpoint.

The draw’s been made for the last 16 of the BetMcLean League Cup next month.

The pick of the ties is the all-Premiership clash of Glentoran and Coleraine at the Oval.
